Day 22: Cutting the Pocket Flap Lining

Cutting Pocket Flap Lining

First sight of the lining. A silk print, originally designed in the studio, now cut on the straight grain—instead of the usual bias cut. Normally, the bias cut allows the lining to follow the curve of the flap with ease, but here, precision is balanced with aesthetic choice, ensuring the color placement is just right.

Sometimes in bespoke tailoring, rules are adjusted to serve the final vision. The choice of cut, the smallest decision—it all adds up.
